Phoenix averages 300 sunny days and 7 inches of precipitation a year. Warm weather is certainly a factor in the Valley's popularity. The sun shines more than 80 percent of the time, and the average annual daytime temperature is about 82 degrees. Phoenix's climate is terrific, especially to those used to having to deal with snow, sludge and gray skies. And, yes, it is possible to relax by the pool on Saturday and spend Sunday on the ski slopes.
During the summer (defined in Phoenix as May through September) temperatures exceed 100°F almost daily - but, as we say here in the Valley, "it's a dry heat." The hottest month is July, when temperatures average in excess of 105°F. The heat drops off in October, and the nights cool. It rarely rains, but when it does, expect a show from Mother Nature.
The following are the normal daily temperature ranges for Phoenix:
January 38-65°F (3-18°C); February 41-69°F; March 45-75°F; April 52-84°F; May 57-93°F; June 68-102°F; July 78-105°F; August 76-102°F; September 69-98°F; October 57-88°F; November 45-75°F; December 39-66°F.
